Jason Lanier

Our Guest Of Honor

Award-Winning Photographer & International Instructor

Jason Lanier is known the world over as one of the pre-eminent photographers when it comes to mastering and using light in his work and for the diverse types of work that he undertakes.
He is the original Master of Light for Rotolight and his work has been featured in magazines and publications around the world.

Jason was chosen as the Archival Photographer for the iconic documentary for Six Flags New Orleans, Jazzland, one of the most famous abandoned locations in the world. In this role he documented the park in it’s state after 20 years of abandonment. He archived and preserved the historical remnants and painstakingly watched over the park in it’s last days as the demolition team wiped away 25 years of history.

Jason’s most in depth documentary saw him cover the subject of immigration, both legal and illegal surrounding the chaotic border between the U.S. and Mexico. Lasting over 4 years this project included him being trafficked through 9 different countries as he took the migrant trek with immigrants seeking their pathway to the United States.

His work has taken him all over the globe as he shares his passion for imagery with fellow photographers, clients, and creatives. Jason was also featured on Ted Talks for the way his documentary and photography work moves others to become better creators.
